Devarayana Durga |
Devarayana Durga is a hill station near Tumkur. It is good place for trekking and rock climbing. The height is of about 1,188 mts. This is famous for the natural water spring called Namada Chilume and is at 75 kms from Bangalore. This Hill station is situated along the hill chains running across the eastern part of Tumkur district and the range marks the boundary between the Krishna and Cauvery river basins. The name Devarayana Durga was given in 1696 by the king of Mysore Sree Chikkadevaraja Wodeyar. It was known by the name Anebiddajari before Devarayana Durga. |
